Etienne Ruffieux has worked for prestigious high-luxury brands including Zenith, Parmigiani, and Gucci. This tourbillon is his original design for AGELOCER.

Inspired by the manta ray, AGELOCER reimagines the tourbillon as two gracefully gliding mantas. Without a traditional dial, the openworked skeleton reveals light, shadow, and unprecedented mechanical beauty.

Manta Ray Inspired

Manta rays are extremely sensitive to changes in the marine environment, and their population has long served as a barometer of ocean ecosystem health. To raise awareness of marine ecology, AGELOCER presents its new watch: the Free-sprung Balance Manta Tourbillon.

Balance Flying Tourbillon

This design presents stringent challenges for machining.

· Calibrated center of gravity for stable 360° tourbillon rotation
· Ultra-light, ultra-thin carriage to reduce inertia and ensure precision
· Manta ray-inspired 3D streamlined form on delicate components

Achieving these three balances in a 13mm-wide, 0.4mm-thick component (min. 0.15mm, 0.12g) is far more challenging than it seems. Machining precision is controlled to within 0.001mm, as even the slightest error could compromise either timekeeping or aesthetics — a true showcase of our core technology.

What is a Free-sprung Balance movement ?
This emerging technology eliminates the traditional balance spring regulator, preventing timekeeping errors caused by regulator shift or loosening. With higher demands on precision and materials, it delivers superior long-term accuracy and reliability.
To recreate the manta ray’s graceful form, we used 3D sculpting and polishing to replicate its streamlined silhouette — a natural work of art blending speed and elegance.

60-Hour power reserve

AGELOCER’s tourbillon delivers a 60-hour power reserve — a 50% improvement over the 40-hour luxury watch standard — thanks to its dual mainspring design. Parallel dual barrels ensure even energy distribution for more accurate, stable timekeeping. Combined with a 28,800 vph (4Hz) high frequency, daily error is controlled within ±15 seconds.

Panoramic Skeleton Design

The skeletonized movement eliminates all excess metal, balancing striking aesthetics with precise engineering. The result is a tourbillon weighing just 65g — light enough to feel like it floats on the wrist, blending featherweight comfort with a premium feel.

Luminous System

Beyond the robust mechanical movement, we prioritize nighttime practicality. The hands and markers are coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® eco-friendly luminescent material, delivering the same aquamarine glow as Rolex.
This clear blue light ensures easy time reading at night, while gently reminding us that protecting the marine ecosystem is an urgent matter.

316L Stainless Steel Case

Professional watchmakers give the stainless steel case an exquisite metal brushed and polished finish through manual polishing, presenting an exquisitely luxurious aesthetic.

Double-Sided Sapphire Crystal

AGELOCER uses sapphire crystal on both the dial and case back — the same material found in high-end luxury watches. Our 6N (99.999%) high-purity sapphire, treated with anti-reflective coating, delivers exceptional transparency and clarity.

Over 500 Hours of Crafting

Each watch will be carefully crafted by watchmakers for over 500 hours and has undergone a 2-week precision test and a 50 meter depth waterproof test.

AGELOCER has won a total of 24 design awards and is the brand with the largest number of international design awards in the Chinese watch field. Currently it has more than 100 invention and design patents, and has developed and launched China's first mass-produced Free-sprung balance tourbillon skeleton mechanical watch.
